Billie Eilish Is Nominated for 7 Grammys This Year. Here's How Much the Star Is Worth
It's hard to recall a time when Billie Eilish wasn't topping the charts. Although it seems like she's been around forever, she actually popped on the scene only a decade ago when she and her brother, Finneas, debuted “Ocean Eyes” in 2015 on SoundCloud.
She may not have seniority like other pop icons such as Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, but Eilish has definitely made an impact since becoming a star. In the last few years, Eilish has been nominated for 32 Grammy Awards and has won nine. Ahead of the 67th Grammys on February 2, she continues her success with seven more nominations including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
From Eilish's humble beginnings to the music that made her a star, here's everything you need to know about the "What Was I Made For?" singer's enormous net worth.

Billie Eilish's Net Worth
While Billie Eilish has definitely given down-to-earth vibes, the 23-year-old is rolling in dough. Since she first hit the music scene at the age of 13, she's been breaking records, turning heads, and piling a whopping $50 million net worth, according to Celebrity Net Worth (an unconfirmed but believable figure). And although she's been in the industry for a minute now, managing that kind of fortune hasn't been easy.
“I don’t know what things cost because I’ve never been an adult before. And, you know, I grew up with no money... It’s a really weird position I’m in. I feel kind of stupid because I’m like, I don’t know how much Froot Loops are,” she admitted to Vanity Fair. “I tried to order one box of Froot Loops and I was like, ‘Oh yeah, sure. It’s $35.’ I didn’t know that that’s expensive. I ordered 70 boxes.”
Billie Eilish's Noteworthy Music Career
In 2015, Finneas wrote and produced a song and enlisted her to sing it. The song we know now as “Ocean Eyes” was published on SoundCloud and had 10,000 plays within hours. In 2016, Eilish published her second song "Six Feet Under" and it almost immediately went viral.
The same year her second song came out, Eilish signed with boutique label Darkroom. A year after signing with the label, Eilish (with more help from Finneas) released her first EP Don’t Smile at Me, which peaked at 14 on the Billboard 200 chart.
“My EP is called Don’t Smile at Me for a lot of reasons, but one of them would be when [someone says], ‘Smile. Why aren't you smiling? It's so much more beautiful when you smile.’ Everyone’s taught to smile,” Billie told SSENSE. “Girls are. ‘Look happy, look like you're having fun!’ I'm not gonna look like anybody except what I am. I want to impress myself."
In 2019, Eilish released her debut studio album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? which reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and in 2020 won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. At the time of winning, Eilish was a mere 18 years old, making her then (and now) the youngest person to ever win the Album of the Year prize. The single “Bad Guy” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and won Grammys for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. That same year, Eilish also released the single “Everything I Wanted," which was later awarded Record of the Year.
In 2021, Eilish released her second studio album, Happier Than Ever, which was nominated for seven Grammys.
When asked why she named the album what she did, she told NPR, "I mainly wanted a title for my album to be, like, un-mispronounceable. I feel that was a strong, easy to pronounce, easy to say, can't-get-it-wrong title. [But the song it's named after] is one of my favorite songs on the album. It's one of my most important songs I've ever written."
Although she has put out a number of singles since her 2021 album, like “No Time to Die” and "What Was I Made For?” which was part of the soundtrack for the blockbuster Barbie, she didn't release another full album until May of 2024. The album Hit Me Hard and Soft debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and all 10 songs from the album debuted in the top 40 of the Hot 100.
