Everything We Know About Catherine O'Hara's Mysterious New 'Last of Us' Season 2 Character
With the second season premiere for The Last of Us just mere months away, new cast member Catherine O’Hara has finally given a bit of information about her character. The fresh episodes will take place five years after the events of Season 1.
The video game adaptation will be entering into a dark story arc of revenge (based upon The Last of Us Part II game) for the upcoming season.
Appearing in trailers for Season 2, O’Hara’s character looks to be a therapist (which did not appear in the video games) to Pedro Pascal’s lead Joel Miller, as they delve into the harrowing ordeals that happened in Season 1. “Say the thing you’re afraid to say,” she prods Pascal’s Joel in a preview.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, O’Hara said her character has an “odd relationship” with Pascal’s character Joel.
“You don’t quite know why she’s got… well, she’s got this edge to her, but it makes for some weird, good dark comedy, I think,” she told the publication. “So it’s there. I never want to deny the gift of humor.”
O’Hara, who learned about the show from her two sons who played the games (one is now a set designer on the series) said this season is “way more intense if you know the game.”

She also heaped praise on the series’ stars, Pascal and Bella Ramsey.
“I just love working with Pedro Pascal,” she said. “Both of them. Bella. Wow. Was that intimating? It always is. It’s not my territory… you’re just like, thank you for inviting me and I’ll try to be a good guest. But they were very kind to me and it was great.”
Joining O’Hara as fresh faces for Season 2 will be Isabela Merced, Kaitlyn Dever, Jeffrey Wright, Danny Ramirez, Young Mazino, Spencer Lord, Ariela Barer, and Tati Gabrielle.
