Who Is Anne Hathaway's Husband? All About Her Romance With Adam Shulman
Anne Hathaway's husband may be a bit of a mystery to you since he's not an A-lister like Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. Their dynamic is more comparable to Margot Robbie and her husband or Kanye West and his new wife. He is, however, in the celebrity sphere. Adam Shulman is a fellow actor.
"I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life,” Hathaway told Harper's Bazaar UK. Still, it wasn’t an overnight ordeal: They dated for four years before getting married.
Despite her heavy Hollywood credentials, the couple prefers to stay away from the limelight. Among other reasons, this might be tied to the fact that she had a very public split with Italian property developer Raffaello Follieri in 2008. Though she remains tight-lipped about the previous relationship, she did reveal to Vogue that it caused “a lot of lingering trust issues.”
It seems Shulman has quashed those issues. Hathaways gushed to USA Today a year before their nuptials in 2012: "We have house parties and dinner parties and just hang out.” Grinning, she added, "I'm so delighted by my boyfriend. He's all the things you want a partner to be. I so find joy in his presence."
Here's everything you need to know about the couple.

Who Is Adam Shulman?
Adam Shulman was born on April 2, 1981, in New York City. Which makes both him and his wife native New Yorkers. They also have two children together.
Shulman has worked professionally as an actor and producer, having graduated from Brown University in 2003 with a degree in theater. After college, he earned notice for a five-episode role on the TV show American Dreams back in 2005. He went on to play Deputy Enos Strate in the TV movie Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning in 2007. But perhaps the most famous project he worked on was The West Wing, albeit in a small part: He was "Youth Voter #1" in the 2006 episode "Duck and Cover."
What Else Does He Do?
His Hollywood power might not rival Hathaway’s, but they seem to be fine with that. And acting is far from Shulman’s only talent. He’s also a jewelry designer. He owns the jewelry company James Banks Design alongside designer Heidi Nahser Fink, whom he met on set of Alice in Wonderland, for which Nahser Fink created pieces and Hathaway starred in.
The origin story of James Banks Design is that Shulman and Hathaway initially had a concept for a lightbulb-shaped pendant that they shared with Nasher Fink, according to People.
"I said, Adam, you should be a jewelry designer!" Nahser Fink told People. "I just couldn't believe how visual he could be with just words."
And there’s a romantic twist to his jewelry venture: Shulman also happened to design the engagement ring with which he proposed to Hathaway in 2012, getting assistance from the diamond jewelry company Kwiat. Given that she said yes, we’re guessing the gemstone impressed.

What Was the Wedding Like?
As with their personal life in general, Shulman and Hathaway kept their wedding ceremony relatively laid-back. They threw a nature-inspired affair in California’s Big Sur on September 29, 2012.
The guest list was also relatively tight, at least by A-list standards, clocking in at just over 150 guests. "It was just friends and family," a source told People of the event. "No movie stars."

Do They Have Kids?
Indeed, Shulman and Hathaway share two sons together. Their firstborn, Johnathan Rosebanks, was born in 2016, while the younger, Jack, arrived in late 2019.
Shulman has no qualms taking a backseat to Hathaway’s fame and basking in the joys of fatherhood. “Every aspect of it is amazing," he said. And Hathaway manages to amaze him in her mothering: "Every day makes me appreciate her more."
Do They Work Together?
They have in the past. The couple collaborated on the 2014 movie Song One, with Hathaway starring and Shulman working behind the scenes as a producer.
Any relationship can strain under the pressure of being colleagues, but Hathaway had only positive things to say about the collaboration.
"People always say don't work with your spouse," she said. "But I loved working with him. He's really good at this, and he's a wonderful producer. And I feel like I actually learned a lot from him in the process."
