Rapper Kid Cudi Speaks Out After 'Crazed' Fan Breaks Into Home
Kid Cudi has broken his silence following a terrifying home invasion incident.
The multihyphenate musician-actor-producer, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, issued a statement on X following last week’s reports that an errant fan had broken into his home, prepared food for himself, and used the shower. Telling his followers that he wanted to “clear this up” because “the internet’s running [with] things and making jokes,” Mescudi clarified that “the person that broke into my house was a crazed fan that has been stalking me for years without me knowing. He's been to shows, events I've done in the states and overseas.”
The statement continued: “He drove across the country and broke into my house hoping to talk [with] me about [collaborating] and ideas he had. There is nothing funny about this. My privacy was violated, and now I have to protect myself. I don't feel safe now. He rummaged through personal things, my fiance's stuff, took a shower, and ate, all while thinking he was actually gonna have a conversation [with] me. This was an unhinged 34-year-old man. Not homeless.”

Mescudi vowed that he’s undertaking “some serious security measures to make sure this doesn't happen again.” He added: “I’m not online to see the comments, but word got back to me people are making light of this and its not okay. If I’m standoffish when you see me in public now, this is why.”
Law enforcement sources told TMZ on Jan. 16 that Mescudi’s home had been burglarized by a male who, after entering the residence, used the restroom and took a shower before making himself a meal. He was discovered when someone noticed a shirtless male on the kitchen’s security camera. L.A. County Sheriff’s deputies swarmed the home and caught the man in the residence. He was arrested and charged with felony burglary and theft of utilities. The suspect, whose identity has not been released, is being held on a $150,000 bail. The break-in occurred after Mescudi was forced to evacuate his home amidst the Los Angeles wildfires, something he announced to his Instagram followers at the time.
