NFL Star Gets Nice Consolation Prize After Painful Fumbles
The Baltimore Ravens fell short in their game against the Buffalo Bills on Jan. 19, knocking them out of the playoffs and ending their Super Bowl dreams for another year. It was a bad game for tight end Mark Andrews, who fumbled and dropped two critical passes toward the end of the game.
After the Ravens were eliminated from the playoffs, Mediterranean restaurant chain Mezeh extended a delicious offer to Andrews that will keep him fed for life.
"Mark has been a fan favorite and one of the team’s most valuable players since he arrived in 2018. We love him and we’re showing it with this invitation to eat at Mezeh whenever he likes, on us. For the rest of his life," founder and CEO Saleh Mohamadi said, per WMAR. "Whether you’re in the mood for a flatbread wrap, rice or salad bowl, or anything else on our flavor-packed menu, we’ll be ready to show our appreciation for all you’ve done for Ravens fans over the years, Mark."

Mezeh has 14 locations in Maryland and several others throughout the East Coast. The free meals might help Andrews heal the wound of dropping a game-tying two-point conversion pass with just over one minute left in the fourth quarter. Head coach John Harbaugh, for his part, didn't pile on Andrews for coming up short and heaped praise on the 29-year-old tight end.
"We wouldn't be here without Mark Andrews," Harbaugh told reporters after the game. "Mark will handle this fantastically because he's a high-character person, a tough person and a good person. Proud of him like I'm proud of all the guys."
