Eagles Fan Fired From Job After Viral Confrontation With Packers Fan
A Philadelphia Eagles fan has lost his job after a confrontation with a Green Bay Packers fan went viral this week, in which he could be seen on video berating and harassing the fan using misogynistic language. To top it off, he's also since been barred from attending future games.
The incident unfolded during the NFC Wild Card playoff game between the Eagles and Packers at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. In the footage, which was recorded by the fiancé of the Packers fan, the Eagles fan can be seen berating her as she cheered on a play, using the abusive language to insinuate she didn't understand the rules of the game.
After the footage was posted to social media early Monday in hopes to identify the unhinged Eagles fan, it didn't take long for it to go viral, amassing over 30 million views within two days. (Warning, disturbing language below.)
What it's like going to Philly just trying to root for your team...

I hate that my fiancé had this happen simply cheering for her team pic.twitter.com/aiHCKzxrSS
The fan has since been identified and according to Fox 29, has been banned from future events at Lincoln Financial Field.
But what's more, he's also now unemployed. The fan was likewise identified as an employee of BCT Partners, a consulting firm specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion services, of all things.
In a statement released on Tuesday night, the company said that it had come to the decision following an internal personnel investigation regarding an employee who was caught on video outside the workplace making "highly offensive and misogynistic statements."
“In keeping with our company values, which are firmly centered on respect, dignity, and inclusion, we have decided to part company with the employee," the statement read. "This separation is effective immediately."
"We condemn our former employee’s conduct in the strongest possible terms," the statement continued. "This individual’s conduct and language were vile, disgusting, unacceptable, and horrific, and have no place in our workplace and society. Such conduct is not who we are and not what we stand for."
The statement added that it condemned the actions of the employee without condemning the individual. "None of us deserve to be remembered for actions taken on our worst day," the company concluded. "We have offered grace and support to our former employee. We hope that he will grow and we can all learn from this disturbing incident."
Ultimately, the Eagles triumphed 22–9 over the Packers during Sunday's game, but the victory must have been a short-lived one for the fan, to say the least.
