Police Looking for 2 Women Who Disappeared on Popular Hiking Trail
Police in Aberdeen, Scotland are searching for two women who disappeared from a well-known hiking spot, the Scotland Police reported in a statement.
The two women, 32-year-old sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti were last seen in the early morning hours of Jan. 7. They were captured on CCTV around 2:25 a.m. walking across Market Street at Victoria Bridge. After crossing the bridge, the sisters turned right onto a footpath near the River Dee heading, which leads to Aberdeen’s Boat Club. Both women are of slim build, caucasian, with long brown hair.
“Extensive inquiries are ongoing to trace Eliza and Henrietta and searches are being carried out in and around the area where they were last seen,” Chief Inspector Darren Bruce informed. Specialized rescue advisors as well as police search dogs and a marine unit are assisting local authorities.
“The Torry side of Victoria Bridge where they were last seen has many commercial and industrial units,” Bruce explained. “Searches are ongoing here and we would urge businesses in and around the area to please review their CCTV footage for early morning on Tuesday, and contact us if it holds anything that may be relevant to our investigation. We also ask anyone with dashcam footage from that time to contact us.” Bruce added that he was “continuing to speak to people who know Eliza and Henrietta.
Anyone who has seen the two women since Tuesday or might have any knowledge of their disappearance or whereabouts is urged to contact 101, Scotland’s emergency line. Refer to incident No. 0735 of Tuesday, January 7, 2025.”
